Kids BJJ Competition Team
Competitive training for young athletes — confidence, discipline, and resilience on and off the mats.

Located in the heart of Decatur, GA, SuperFly BJJ offers competitive BJJ training for young athletes. Our certified black belt instructors help students from Decatur and surrounding Atlanta communities master advanced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a structured, competitive, high-energy environment. Whether your child is preparing for local tournaments or international events, our program builds the confidence, discipline, and resilience needed to succeed on and off the mats.
How Is Competition Training Different?
Our standard classes establish the technical foundation, while our competition program focuses on high-level performance and tactical execution:
- Elite standards: higher repetition and tighter technical execution
- Match intensity: training at the pace and conditioning level required to be competitive
- Situational strategy: drills based on common tournament scenarios, with specific No-Gi and Gi strategies
- Tactical intelligence: scoring awareness, clock management, and smart decision-making
- Ruleset expertise: specific strategies for IBJJF, ADCC, and local tournament formats
Who Is It For?
- Kids who are training consistently in regular classes and want an additional challenge
- Students preparing for tournaments from local Atlanta to the international level
- Families in the Decatur area looking for a positive, competitive outlet
What Is Taught in a Competition BJJ Class?
Competition training goes beyond the "how-to" of a technique and focuses on the "why" and "when":
1. Point Strategy & Tournament Rules
- Scoring mastery: securing points for takedowns, sweeps, and guard passes
- Clock management: when to hunt for the submission and when to hold a dominant position to protect a lead
2. The Stand-Up Game: Takedowns & Transitions
- Wrestling & judo: high-percentage moves like double-legs and hip tosses
- Guard pulling: techniques to safely initiate offense from the bottom
- Grip fighting: winning the hand-to-hand battle to dictate the pace
3. High-Intensity "Shark Tank" Sparring
- Situational rounds: starting in difficult positions to build escapability under pressure
- Shark tanks: rotating sparring drills that develop elite endurance and mental grit
- Refereed scrimmages: practice matches that prepare kids for the chaos of a real tournament
4. Mental Performance & Sportsmanship
- Anxiety management: breathing techniques to overcome tournament jitters
- Resilience: respect for opponents and officials, regardless of the outcome
